Need an Energy Boost?
It is always better to work with the, ‘prevention is better than cure,’ approach, however sometimes we are caught out and need to help our bodies fight various invaders!
Nutrition plays an important role and ensuring our diets include healthy fruit and vegetables and the right balance of vitamins and minerals can get us off to a good start. Never underestimate the effect nutrition has on your body and well being. A book I found very helpful is Dr Ali’s Nutrition Bible (see image above).
Then consider minerals; zinc is always important to have with vitamin C as is magnesium and calcium. Then there are the different fats and essential oils we need. Simply introducing olive Oil into your diet can make a difference. Olives contain Zinc, mono-unsaturated fats and essential oils that reduce cholesterol, help with low blood pressure, stimulate energy and strengthen the immune system!
Fancy Getting Spicy?!
From Cardamom to Cinnamon, or if more indulgent saffron to the Ayurvedic medicine’s highly regarded Turmeric, we have an abundance of natural healing gifts in our kitchen!
I am rarely without my Echinacea during winter months.
This year I have found a good friend in Potter’s Elixir of Echinacea Plus with Wild Indigo.
In the morning, 2 teaspoons of Neal’s Yard Elderberry syrup in hot water as a drink provides anti-oxidants and vitamin C and taste rather yummy!
Energy healing such as Reiki also boosts the immune system. Full body treatments with reiki reduce stress (which affects our adrenal glands), allowing the body to heal itself naturally. Bringing such harmony and balance to the body improves the body’s metabolism. It has a positive impact on our endocrine, pineal and pituitary glands.
Go on...give yourself the boost you need.
